Sampson likes the fan

Silly dog has taken to laying on the air conditioner. I think he likes the fan blowing on his belly.
Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a 00 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery before 2012. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. However, since my husband and I can’t have children, giving him up for adoption because of health issues seems as ridiculous to us as giving up our 9 year old child for adoption because we can’t keep up with the medical expenses. We work in the service industry, living paycheck to paycheck and our credit is not good enough to get a care credit card that would allow us to make payments. To help us pay for Sampson’s surgery, we have set up a ChipIn donation site to raise funds for Sampson’s surgery. So please consider donating whatever small amount you can to help keep Sampson with the family that loves him. I wanted to take a photo of my cat while he was sleeping, but the start-up sound of my camera woke him up. I decided to take the photo anyhow and ended up capturing his yawn. It’s kinda funny because his features are so small that they look even smaller while he is yawning.

One of the few times Sora actually appears to love me…. I was reading a book when she decided I was to be her human napping spot- but not in my lap. She wanted the be right in front of my face, in the most unstable spot available. It was then my duty to be perfectly still for her while she kneaded and napped. Luckily I had my camera beside me =)

This cute little dog of some Welsh breed – which I forgot the name of – really pulled at my heart.
I got the owner’s permission – and cooperation, since she’s (the dog’s) sort of camera shy (!) – for some stereograms.
This is also the first time I played with the parallax control on the Fuji W3; it helped make these photos "pop." =^.^=
This is the Dubois anaglyph version, for red/cyan glasses.

Funny Little Frank

At 9:30 this morning I gave each dog a Milkbone. Frank ate his right away and then took Jimmy Deans while JD was stealing Links. For 2 hours and 40 minutes Frank has been carrying it around in his mouth – he spits it out when alone, but it I or the other dogs approach him he puts it back in to his mouth. He will eat it when he gets hungry.
Sorry about the back lighting – but I didn’t want to miss the photo.
